I spent more than 18 and a half years in various roles in the US Army before immigrating to Australia and transitioning to the corporate world. Since leaving the Army, I have held senior-level C-suite roles such as Deputy CEO, Associate Vice-Chancellor, COO, General Manager, and CEO across a range of industries, both public and private. My roles have included responsibility for workforces over 400 FTE, budgets over $250 million, and asset portfolios in the billions of dollars.
For the last decade, my career has been focused more on Non-executive Director (NED) roles. I am a Board Member and Vice President of Lifeline Tasmania and the Audit and Risk Committee Chair. I have been a previous Board Member of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (CWHHS), NRM CHRRUP, Yumba Bimbi Support Services and Central Highlands Community Services LTD. My Board Committee experience includes chair roles in finance, audit, and risk committees, as well as member roles in the same committees and patient safety and quality committees.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Liberty University, an MBA from Norwich University and a Certificate of Completion in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School online. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand (FIML), a Certified Professional with the Australian Human Resources Institute (CAHRI), a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
Throughout my professional career, I have built a reputation for rebuilding and realigning organisations. I can manage complex and competing needs, operate effectively in challenging environments, and uphold brand integrity. I have well-honed skills in leading and instilling a cohesive organisational vision through performance discussions, clear feedback, and timely issue resolution to institute a positive organisational culture, increase efficiency and effectiveness, and restore profitability.
My extensive experience covers a wide range of skills, but I specialise in leadership, organisational change and development, corporate governance, human resources, finance, risk, and audit. I have a proven track record of effectively engaging with stakeholders across private and public sectors, at all levels. You can trust me to bring my expertise to your organisation and help drive it forward.
I enjoy many activities with my family during my downtime, such as scuba diving, rock climbing, riding motorcycles, hiking and fishing.
I enjoy volunteering and giving back to my community and have for several years. I am a volunteer firefighter with the Tasmanian Fire Service and a Volunteer Ambulance Officer (VAO) with Ambulance Tasmania.
