I spent more than 18 and a half years in various roles in the US Army before immigrating to Australia and transitioning to the corporate world. Since leaving the Army I have held senior-level c-suite roles such as Deputy CEO, Associate Vice-Chancellor, COO, General Manager and CEO across a range of industries both public and private. My roles have included responsibility for workforces of over 400 FTE and portfolios in the billions of dollars.
For the last decade, my career has been focused more on Non-executive Director (NED) roles. I am currently a Board Member with the Central West Hospital and Health Service and a Board Member and Vice President of Lifeline Tasmania . I have been a previous Board Member of the NRM CHRRUP, Yumba Bimbi Support Services and Central Highlands Community Services LTD. My Board Committee experience includes Chair roles of Finance, Audit and Risk Committees and member roles of the same committees as well as Patient Safety and Quality Committees.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Multidisiciplinary Studies and a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership from Liberty University, an MBA from Norwich University and a Certificate of Completion in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard Business School online. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders Australia and New Zealand (FIML), a Certified Professional with the Australian Human Resources Institute (CAHRI), a Member of the Institute of Public Accountants (MIPA) and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
I take a collaborative and solution-focused approach to organisational leadership. By working together, we can identify organisational strengths, overcome obstacles, and create a plan of action to achieve strategic goals.
While I have a broad range of skills, I specialise in leadership, organisational change and development, corporate governance, human resources, finance, risk, and audit. I have well-honed skills in engaging with stakeholders at all levels and sectors both private and public.
In my downtime, I enjoy a wide range of activities with my family such as scuba diving, rock climbing, riding motorcycles, hiking and fishing.
I enjoy volunteering and giving back to my community and have for a number of years. I am currently a volunteer firefighter with the Tasmanian Fire Service and a Volunteer Ambulance Officer (VAO) with Ambulance Tasmania.
